FINGERING.
To obtain sounds
of varying pitch the strings are pressed against the finger- board in a similar manner to when playing the violin, but unlike the violin, the points at which the strings require to be pressed to form the varying notes, are marked by means of frets. This greatly simpli- fies correct fingering and ensures playing in tune for the amateur. |
